Sketchbook Four Photo Album
These are some of the sketches I like from my sketchbook from the beach. I am really impressed with some of the techniques and materials I used. I used graphite powder for the first time but I was a bit unsure of how to use it so I didn't use it much. Overall it was a pretty good day of drawing.
Sketchbook Three
Sketchbook Three Photo Album
These are some of the sketches that I like from my life drawing sketchbook. I really like some of the techniques I have used and considering this is my first time life drawing I think I did pretty well.

George Butler is a reportage illustrator who travels around the world to create his work. He usually works with pen, ink and watercolour. I really like his animal illustrations.
Illustrations I like:
This is my favourite illustration of George's. I like how abstract the lines and colour are and how the drawing is not completely perfect. |
I really like the colours used in this illustration. I think that because some of the colours aren't realistic it makes the image look unusual but effective at the same time. |
I really like the shapes that have been used in this illustration. I think they fir in well with the image and make it look abstract which I like. |
Sketchbook Two
Sketchbook Two Photo Album
These are a select few of some of the sketches from my second finished sketchbook. I picked these images because I liked some of the techniques I used and some I thought turned out to be quite good drawings.
These drawings are not the best as drawing figures/people is not my strong point but I think I did quite well.

Sketchbook One Photo Album
These are a select few of some of the sketches from my first finished sketchbook. I picked these images because I liked some of the techniques I used and some I thought turned out to be quite good drawings.
Most of these are not the best of sketches but I do think I am improving a lot because I am learning from my mistakes and trying new things. The focus of these drawings are just things I saw at random/in everyday routines.

Illustration I like:
I like Lucinda's work a lot, I really like the simplicity of her sketches. She uses a very simple technique of drawing basic lines but she makes it work very well. |
Even though her work is not perfectly proportioned I still think her portraits are amazing and I also really like how in a sketchbook she doesn't use much else but pencil. |
I think that it is very impressive how she can make a drawing this simple look good. I would never have thought that anyone would this this was 'good art' but it is. |
I really like how this one continues onto two pages. I really like the way she works and the techniques she uses so I will definitely be taking some inspiration from her. |

Rob is an illustrator/artist based in Birmingham and he specialises in reportage illustration, drawing from life, mixed media, painting and photography. I really like his style of illustration because it is very sketchy and his use of colour makes his drawings stronger.
Illustrations I like:
I really like the lines used in this sketch. I think they are very effective yet very subtle. To me it looks like a continuous line drawing and, if done right, they look really good. |
I think this image is really interesting. I like the use of photography mixed in with the drawing, I think they go together very well. |
